Welcome to Craft Treasures

May 24th, 2008

We’re the little online store with big big dreams. Right now, Craft Treasures is a new online shop selling handmade gifts from two generations of crafters. Well, mostly just crafts from one generation.

R&D Wood is so busy getting ready for their late summer and early fall craft shows that they just don’t have time to make many crafts for the website. But we do have one of their best sellers on the site- that’s their original design wooden peanut dispenser. Of course it has all the well thought out design elements you can always expect from R&D Wood…food safe oil on all parts the regularly come into contact with the peanuts and candy…easily disassembles so you can give it a thorough cleaning…Eventually we’d like to get their wooden carousels on the site and also have their nautical wood decor…especially their well loved ancor key holder. But, for now well let them get ready for the craft shows first.

As for Kay’s Crafts, you never know what will be next. Currently we have a collection of crochet towel toppers for kitchen and bath towels, the four horses pillows and a collection of sea side jewelry. What’s in the works? Lighhouse key holders, watermellon hot pads, nautical beach clutch and a few other fun items.

That’s what Craft Treasures is today. What we hope to become is something much bigger. We have our eyes on a big shop in Keansburg, NJ. It has plenty of room for everything we want to do. First and foremost, we want to sell handmade crafts from dozens of local crafters instead of just two or three crafters. The shop we have in mind has a nice sized room for all the craft classes we hope to have someday. There’s even space for what we call “anytime crafts”. The will be a section of the shop where anyone, anytime can walk in, pick a craft for a small fee, and have all the supplies and help they need to make that craft right there in the shop.

Well, at least that’s the dream. For now, we’re still a little online shop selling handmade crafts. Wether or not we ever open that store in Keansburg, NJ depends on how well the online shop does.
